Nuance Voice Control

To Use:

1) Press and Release the button on the left side of the Curve.

2)   At the beep speak your command naturally (holding the unit about 3 inches from the mouth)

3)    Press the button again when you finish speaking your command. Unit will beep in a few seconds when command is returned.

Commands:

1)       Phone Calls - "Call" [Contact's name] + [phone type (optional)].

 

Tips:
 a) Be sure to use the First and Last name when you speak the Contact name.
 
 b) Even if the First name is unique, (for example you have only one contact with the first name of Shane), you should still say the First and Last name.

 

2)       Phone Calls with a Number – “Dial” followed by the phone number digits.

 

3)       Call Voicemail – “Call Voicemail”

 

4)       Quick Emails:  (Voice Email text is limited to 20 words)

·         For new emails:

            "Email [Contact’s Name] + Subject [subject text] + Body [body text]” 

            (Note: Subject and Body are optional).

·         For Replies to Emails:

            “Reply [body text]”

·         For “Reply All” to emails:

            “Reply All [body text]”

·         To “Forward” an email:

            “Forward [Contact’s Name] + Body [body text]

Note: Subject is optional for Reply, Reply All and Forward.  If you don't specify a Subject the FW: or RE: Original Subject will be the subject.

5)       Calendar (Calendar test is limited to 20 words)

 

"Add Appointment [Appointment Text] + Date [Date of appointment] + Time [time of the appointment]”

 

6)       Web Pages: "Go to Website  [Website URL]”

 

Note: Spell unusual URL names the first time you use them.  Subsequent requests for that URL should not have to be spelled.

 

7)       Quick Web:

·         "Weather [ Zip Code]”

 

·         “StockQuote [Stock Symbol]”

 

·         "Sports [Sport Category listed below]”

    Blackberries with GPS:
    You can say "Near Me" instead of a Zip Code or a City/State combination.
     

  • Driving Directions
    "From: 8892 Longbow PL, 45039 to: 8349 Columbia Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio"

    Blackberries with GPS:
    You can say "From Me" instead of starting address.
     

    Important Notes:

    1)  Zip Code does not have to be precise, usually within 25 miles works well.

    2)  Spell unusual Business names and addresses the fist time you use them. Subsequent requests for that Business Name should not have to be spelled.

    3)  You must be outside when using the "Near Me or From Me" option so that the device has access to the satellites to determine the location of your device.

Note: You must have Event Injector Privileges to use this command.

Speed and Accuracy

Using the proper command syntax as defined above, will result in the fastest execution time (usually 3 seconds for phone calls and 10-15 seconds for most other commands) and highest accuracy.  If improper syntax is not used, the system will still attempt to fulfill your request, but will generally take more time.
